Before this afternoon's win, I would have said no. But Buehrle looked good until the fifth, and the White Sox did what good teams do - take advantage of the other team's mistakes.

Now I think they do sweep, and cut the lead to 5 1/2. And it doesn't get any easier for the Tigers, as they go to Boston for 3 after Chicago, home for 8 (4 each with Texas and Chicago), then 3 each at Cleveland and New York. Chicago's schedule is noticeably easier through that stretch, with 4 at home vs. KC, 3 at Minnesota and 4 at Detroit, then 3 at home vs. Minnesota and Tampa Bay. Chicago might not even it up, but I expect the gap to continue to shrink throughout August.

It is a very real possibility.

My boys made a few errors today--but that's ok.

In a 162 game schedule things are bound to happen.

With today's loss to the white sox, The Tigers have matched thier longest losing streak of the season at 4 (only 3rd time this year).

I hope The Tigers can re-round tomorrow.

But if we don't I wont panic and start running for the hills.

Should the white sox sweep, My Boys will still have a 5 1/2 game lead.

The Tigers have a 4 game series at Comerica Park with the white sox later this month, and that will be critical to both teams.

Neither team should panic or jump up and down for joy just yet.

There are still 7 weeks of baseball left.

Im a Sox fan but I doubt it. Garcia has really sucked this year and the Sox have had big problems finishing off series when they go up 2-0. If they do I guarentee you people will start questioning if the Tigers can hold the lead for the rest of the season.

Probably.

The Sox have taken 7 of 10 from Deetroit so far this year, and play well at home.

Plus, I think the Sox are on the upswing and the Tigers are due for a slump. Don't count the Sox out for winning the division.
I don't bet on baseball, but I would take Chicago manana.

Detroit particularly needs to shore up the bullpen on the commerce time reduce. i comprehend they were relying on both injured pitchers to help, yet they needed help now. Does the Sox sweep marvel me? No, they have traditionally been good adversarial to the critical. Can they contend? No, they could might want to leapfrog too many golf equipment to get into the playoffs at this aspect.

I'm going to say no, sweeping a 3 game series is tough against a very good team. They really need to to stay in the hunt for the wild card, though. Just my opinion...
