Don't get a job like working at Publix. Do some research online and find an internship in an area you have interest. The internship will be much more rewarding, both now, and later.

You would probably get the minimum wage, and you might get even less if your state/province has a "training wage" program for new workers with less than x number of hours work experience.

My first job was at a chocolate shop. I was paid $7.15 per hour, when the minimum wage was $7.00. I worked between eight and twelve hours per week during school, and up to thirty during the summer. I basically got no benefits, but I was allowed to take home $100 worth of chocolate at Christmas! It was really good training, because they had an exhaustive customer-service training program that really helped me get higher-paying jobs in posh department stores during college.

Since i dont know where you live, i can only tell you about michigan. If you got a job at walmart at least the one i work at you would start out at 7.15 and get a raise in 90 days. There are alot of jobs out there, you just need to know where and put your applications in. My first job was at Wendys, and I made good money. so good luck to you

You first job will pay peanuts (mine paid $10 a day), but that's not important. What is important is how it will look on your resume. The experiences you learn from this job will help you on your next job and later on your career. In fact, volunteering instead of working (if you can afford to do so), will help you just as much later in life, if not more so since it offers more experiences and more potential for learning.
