My team has a slim chance at the playoffs, but it's not looking like it'll happen. BJ Upton would occupy my 16th round pick in next year's draft and Milledge would be a minor league keeper so no draft pick. And if I didn't do the deal I would NOT be keeping Schmidt or Cordero.

I don't see why not. Upton and Milledge are going to be stars in the next five years or so, and Schmidt is getting old. Do it.

If you're planning on playing this keeper league for about five years, it might be worth consideration. If not, don't make the trade. I don't understand why you wouldn't keep Jason Schmidt. Four of the last five years, he's had an ERA under 3.50 and at least 12 wins. Add to that the fact that he pitches in a weak offensive division and has at least a few good seasons left at 33 years of age, and the choice is clear. Upton and Milledge could become good players in time, but Schmidt will be good for the immediate future.

NO!! Milledge is the single most overrated player in MLB. I watched him play against the Red Sox, and he was absolutely pathetic. Keep Schmidt and Cordero. You will be better off!

Chow!!

Don't do the trade. Milledge is only a role player. Not in line up everyday.

Contender. the guy's merely 21. provide him time to boost and mature. It takes years to be a reliable, mature participant. i'm no longer confident that he's were given a intense recommendations-set difficulty. per chance he's merely an excessively excited youngster who's merely attempting to prepare himself accessible. Being any such youthful guy playing for the large-leauges supplies him the jitters also. the click in long island isn't precisely undemanding on the gamers, both. That locker room incident? likely that is element of the rookie hazing ingredient. with any success the Mets do not provide up on him and commerce him away. he's were given raw expertise and he's shown it on the container. All he desires is time. i could be fairly shocked if he would not blossom right into a reliable participant.

Why wouldn't you keep Schmidt. He is one of the ten best starting pitchers in baseball.

I wouldn't take this deal.
