why the heck do they show all the games all at once? They could split the schedule throughout the week so people can get to watch more than 4 games a week. I know there are more games than that but pretty much you only get to watch 4 game at most, one in the morning , one at noon, one at night, and the last game on monday. you could watch more but it's a pain in the *** having to switch back and forth on games. I never understand what the heck these people are thinking!!

Four reasons:

1. They are conforming to the normal work week schedule. More people watch on weekends.

2. They have an agreement with NCAA to avoid conflicting games. This is why college games aren't scheduled for Sundays. If you look at the NFL schedule, you will see that Saturday and Thursday games get scheduled after the college football season ends.

3. Regardless of who is playing, games need to be scheduled to be potentialy visible in all time zones. No game on the east coast can be scheduled before 1pm eastern time. 1pm eastern means the LA, SD, SF, and SEA markets are all watching that game at 10am. Any earlier would limit viewers on a weekend. 9pm eastern time games end at midnight, the latest a game can run on a Sunday or Monday without limiting viewers. This provides only an 8 hour window for start times. On a Monday night you can only show one game because a 9 pm eastern start equals 6pm on the west coast, and people are presumably commuting home from work between 5pm and 6pm.

4. League issues (coach, player, and marketing concerns). Coaches don't like to alter their regular 6 day prep schedules. Players believe Thursday games contribute to higher injury rates (this is debatable). The league doesn't want to dillute demand ala nba/nhl or inhibit press coverage during the week.

Friday night is for high school football. Saturday is college day. And Sunday is for the NFL. There is also Monday night football, Saturday games when the college season is over, and some games on the occasional Thursday. But it would be tricky to try to play all week because it takes a while to recover from the physical grind of one game, and prepare for the next. For example, it is tough to play a late Monday nighter, then be ready for next Sunday. It would be very taxing to play a Wednesday game and then on the next Sunday.

Well. They way I understand it is that they have actually tried spliting up the scedule before. And Spreading the games out over a period of a week. The problem they run into is that the rating fluxuate over the week depending on what night. Also they run into the problem of teams not having the same amount of time to rest up. So one team may have like 3 days to rest up where another team hasen't played in a week. Also it gives each team a full week to examine game film and study the other team to figure out the best offense and defense to play.

Scheduling games can be difficult, especially regarding a sport as popular as football. They schedule NFL games on Sunday and Monday to allow fans to attend high school and college games on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The NFL can play on any day they wish, but as a courtesy, try to stick to the weekends.

Because there is only two days on the weekend. The world could not function if football was on more than that. Also more than 2 days of football would drive the divorce rate up substantially

Since when does football or the world depend on what you want. Do like the Hunt brothers did and start your own league.
