they are wrong. The drive-in rocks. We have a 2 screen drive in here the we go to a lot during the summer, it's just so much better than the theatre, no strange smells, if someones making noise you can roll the window up, the sound isn't too loud or too quiet since I can control it, and you get to see 2 movies for the price of 1!

I'm going to see Pulse and Clerks 2 tommorrow at the drive in

Take your kids and have a good time! There are not many left anymore. There are only two in my area, one happens to practically be
in our back yard! Most drive ins use radio sound so that's actually much better than the old speakers. We like to get there early and bring lawn chairs and our cooler with drinks and food, and make it into a nice picnic. It's a nice old fashioned outing, and it's not that expensive, plus at our drive-in, you see two movies for the price of one! Enjoy!

Our small town has always had a drive-in.I take our son almost every week-end.Tonight they are showing Pirates of the Caribbean 2.
The owner grills burgers fri and sat. night. The popcorn and soda is good also.
I have wonderful memories.Take lawn chairs to sit in the back of the pick-up/ park in the 3rd row center and take the kids some candy. This should be a fun family outing.

I love drive-in movies. I used to go there with my family as a child (cheap night) I used to go there in high school for dates (?) I'd go there now if there were any around. I just love the concept of being outside to watch a movie, seeing your friends, and if you take kids, somewhere for them to fall asleep. Plus, money wise they were a good deal.

i think you guys will have fun! i personally have never been to a drive in--the one i had back home never had any good movies on it, and the people who went their ruined the expirience. :-(
however, if the theatre you are going to has a relatively good reputation, i would go. it's always great to expose your kids to different things. heck, when they get older they might not even have drive ins anymore! go while you can. make sure to take a cozy blanket, pillow, and some snacks.
have fun! :-)

I was raised going to drive-ins. We used to have a stationwagon and mom hung curtains and us kids would sit in the back with the seats folded down and sleeping bags. Later when I could drive I loved it better you could party and watch the movies.

I love drive-ins. We do not have any close by. The last time I went to one was back in 1981. It closed after that. It is such a shame. Now it just farmland again.

The one near my house was always a haven for drug dealers and gang violence, but the police and county sheriffs department cleaned it up and rounded up all those people. Now it's a family place and we have a great time.
