Block The Sender
Make Sure When You Log Into You On Line Back Account Its Actually The Real Web Site.
It's Called Phishing.
"The act of sending an e-mail to a user falsely claiming to be an established legitimate enterprise in an attempt to scam the user into surrendering private information that will be used for identity theft. The e-mail directs the user to visit a Web site where they are asked to update personal information, such as passwords and credit card, social security, and bank account numbers, that the legitimate organization already has. The Web site, however, is bogus and set up only to steal the user’s information."

you don't say what email you received this in but no matter, one thing you have to do to take any action is show and save the full header. If I knew what email you are using I could tell you how to do this.
You then hi-lite the entire message including the full header, copy it and paste it into a new email.
Send this to: ABUSE@your email provider.com
Example: abuse@aol.com
All email providers have this "abuse" addy and they can trace the source and take whatever action is appropriate.
For your safety, you most likely will not be told of the correct source nor the action taken.
For your best interests, learn how to show the Full Header in your email. You can post another question: "How do you show the full email header using (hotmail, aol) [what ever you use for email.]

Look in your phone book. There is the FBI and the local police and if the person has a yahoo or aol address they both has spoof lines. Best no to open any e mail that you know is not some one or an institution you have written too. Do not reply to that e mail.

In future do not open up emails you do not recognize! Bank of America and other legit businesses would not contact you by email unless you gave them permission to ! My advice is clean your computer of any adware , spyware, or hijackers that could have gotten in! Download the yahoo toolbar with anti spy for free to clean your computer! Just erase strange emails in the future.

This is probably a email scam or virus, scan your computer, now that you have opened the email, and report it to abuse@.........com (Whatever email company that you use, and do NOT Open Emails from those you don't know or have no dealings with).. Good Luck

Please tell me you didn't give them information. Maybe report to Bank of America. I pasted a link below. Ask them if they have a site that you can send the email to that's from the government.

Just hit the spam button and try to ignore it. More often than not the people in power won't do a damn thing about it... they probably won't even look at the link.

What was the lin-never mind, if my parents saw that, then chances are they would not trust me anymore. You could report it to your email website as spam(though it technically isn't, they will filter it), or to your bank.
