I try to save pics that I like off the net, and every time I try to save them to the folders, it always saves them as bmp and not jpeg like it used too... but my family who shares the computer with me can save the pics to jpeg... I'm confused.. can someone please help?

When you save a picture. the box that appears asks you "save as" then under that there is a drop down menu with all the formats.
chose jpeg and I'm sure it will remember for the next time. i don't recall bmp being a default!!!!

Right click on the photo
Select Save AS

On the very bottom there is an option to "save as file type" You should be able to select JPEG. This assumes that you ahve some kind of JPEG creation software on your PC/

One of your answers say to "type .jpg" in the file name.
You DO NOT change the format just by renaming it!!!!

For a full, correct answer you have to say what browser you are using when you 'save' a pic. Different browsers have different methods of changing defaults.

BMP is the Windows image default.
