I don't believe in the death penalty no matter how bad things get. Even though if you're talking about the same terrorists that we see on t.v., they don't care about dying. Give them the death penalty, they would have done it anyway with their SUICIDE BOMBING.

Living seems to be more of a punishment.

The death penalty is wrong. You never know whether you can turn someone around.

What people WANT, and what should actually happen are not the same thing. If you wrong someone, they may WANT to kill you. That doesn't mean it's right for them (or the government) to do so.

Civilized countries have abolished the death penalty; I look forward to the day when the country I live in does so, too.

That's right. But knowing the mealy-mouthed Brits, as well as all the rest of the wimpy pansy-faced Europeans who are so dead-set against the death penalty, these wannabe terrorists will probably be released in a few years (if the go to jail at all) so they can have another go at it.

I think they should just accidentally be killed in some sort of "accident" would serve the purpose just as well.

Much as I believe that two wrongs don't make a right - I think the capital option should be retained in terrorist cases. As I look at it, if someone's willing to take responsibility for ending the lives of hundreds of innocent strangers, then the least we can do is put them in a position where they can experience the terror their victims would have known.

Of course it is right to give death penalty to any one who takes a precious human life with no right. I am against terrorism but don't you see that violence always results from injustice, persecution and double criteria? I am not defending terrorists but I am also demanding that those who create terrorism should have their punishment too.

The punishment should fit the crime. If a terrorist wants to blow up a plane, then he obviously wants to die; so why not give him the death penalty?

These are people so fanatic in their ideas and willingness to act them out that it is too late to penetrate their way of thinking or make them see reason. They have brought the playing field down to survival level, therefore, yes, the death penalty should be carefully considered.

the people of which you speak died a long time ago, they can possess no soul, it is sickening to think that thousands of lives can be torn apart, thousands of life stories ended, hundreds of thousands of family members lives thrown into torment.
in an attack like the one planned the chances are that each of us would know somebody who knows somebody who would have lost someone.
civil war could have broken out between muslim and non muslim all our lives could have been changed for ever, and for what, newspaper headlines. those animals should be made to listen to every funeral service and look into the eyes of every victim of sectarian violence...

of cource this depends upon thier guilt or innocence....

The best way to see what America thinks would be to place them in stockades around the US and let the people have at um.

I guarantee it won't be quick like the bombings would have been. We'd want them to enjoy being martyrs they take such pride in being.

if you believe in god.. then you would also be aware that no one has the right to take away the life of another. besides, terrorists who blow up planes die in the process.. so why even bother to kill them when they're dead?

but if it was my world... i'd make them suffer, but not kill them.. i think it's a lot more entertaining to see someone suffer... than to see someone get shredded to pieces.. that's only temporary, but if you keep them alive and torture them for your own viewing pleasure..you could do that for ages... just make sure they live.
the longer they live,, the more amusement for you. ^_^
