You need to follow your MD's advice on this. Too many variables to consider: are you an older mom 35+, is this your first c-section or your 4th? Do you have complications - PIH, GDM? Your health care provider knows you and your history, we do not.

I had a C-section 6 months ago, and I was told that at least 1 year would be best, and 2 years would be ideal to let my body heal. I plan to start trying for number 2 at about the 18 month mark.

And it's not for sure that if you have one c-section that you'll have to have another. If your Dr says (like my Dr did) that your incision healed well, he may say that you can try for a V-BAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) next time. Also, my Dr said that I could have another ceserean if I chose to not try the V-BAC.

You'll be encouaged to have another c-section but you probably should just wait. My mom had twins v back six years after a c section and had so much trouble finding a doctor but she did it and she was fine.

There are some things that you should ask your doctor not just some dumb people on the Internet that think they know everything. This is one of those questions. call your dctor he/she knows you best and can tell you in your particular case how long you should wait.Or if you take the advive of anybody on here for this i would say stop having kids.

most people wait about a year or longer before trying to conceive another child my suggestion is to not wait too long but at least a year to two because its hard raising 2 babies in diapers at the same time.
