I have a question that's always confused me: do people over 60 ever use computers/internet? I always understood they hate the idea of computers and wish they'd never been invented, but I saw this really old guy using one the other day.

I only Know one my Grandma's Friend who is 78 years old uses one all the time since she has nothing todo anymore all her kids are older and Grown up and her husband works allot and goes on allot of trips

Older people are finding computers a great way to stay in touch with family that are further away. It's easier to stay in touch with their grandkids too. My parents are both over 60 and are on the computer all of the time and even sell ebay.

I'm 70 (really not old), and I've used computers since the days of DOS. Three years ago, I received a diploma in PC Repair with an average of 95%. I didn't let progressive technology stop me! :)

Ha, ha, ha. I love your question. I am an old fart and I use my puter all the time.
I am pretty good at it even if I do say so myself.
I was in the IT world for 40+ years when I worked. I have forgotten more things than perhaps you know.
Just remember this my friend, Time is the great equalizer!!!

Surprising? Sure, there are plenty of older people who use computers. Wouldn't the people who invented computers be pretty old right now?

Yes. My dad has learned to use the internet a bit and play games, and at my last temp data entry job there were a few semi-retired people doing data entry as well.

depends what you mean by old i,am 50 and a real wizz on my new hp zd8000 wide screen laptop,it cost me £1200 but then i,am most probably classed as old and can afford to spend that much on a lap-top guess what one day you may be old lol

lol...they are human too just like you and I. Some people think computers are evil. I play pogo games a lot and there is a lot of older people who play games in there gives them something to do.
