Is it wrong to kill them for little or no reason. Like stepping on a harmless spider outside of the home?

Yes I believe that they love their little lives in their own way . They too feel the sensations of pain when they were hurt & tries to frantically keep their life to themseves. I always feel their love when I tries to protect them. I make it a point to project my love to them whenever I help them and I could feel their gratefulness often. It may sound silly but I believe that they have the same rights to live on this earth just as we humans do.

Love is an abstract idea and feeling that only humans feel, however all the species have the instinct to live and survive. All animals and plants have a function in this world so we need to respect them. Without insects there would not be pollination, so we would not have food, without spiders there would be insect plagues in our homes. Don't kill the insects in your back yard, don't kill the little spiders you find in your home.

we cannot really ask them. But we can observe them. They do seem to be attached to staying alive just as we do. They try to rescue themselves from dangerous situations. The urge to survive must be a very valuable trait from an evolutionary standpoint, so I would expect most organisms to share this trait.

Why would anybody kill any other life for no reason, sounds stupid and mean to me. Just because one has the power to kill somebody does not mean one should.

Though I have to say I don't see anything wrong in killing any mosquito which is about to bite me. I regard that as self defense.

We do not know whether they do or not since we can't communicate with them. And we also cannot quantify how much we love our life. Thus, not much basis for comparison.

But all animals are made to avoid harm -- an action that is essential to their survival. So perhaps we can deduce that they do love their life enough to avoid death. And we shouldn't be stepping on little bugs or any other animals just as much as we wouldn't want them stepping on us.

wow that's a noodle scratcher of a question. well now lemme see. to say that a life does not value its own would be wrong. because all life is valued by that creature which it is inhabited by. but, to say that they appreciate it in the same way we do would be a false statement. we are able to appreciate all the things in this world because of our brains.
is it wrong to kill them? depends upon your own view on how precious life is. to me killing things unnnecarily is something i don't like to do. if i have to eat ill eat only what i can and no more. i hate to waste food because a critter gave its life to sustain my own. i find it disrespectful to throw away their body without consuming it.
to kill something for the pure pleasure of doing so is something i cannot condone. its just plain wrong.
killing for a reason is allowed. oh ive got to go think on this some more....

We don't really know, but many have survived much longer than man. We are not too loving of life when we kill each other and ourselves on purpose or by foolish behavior. We will not survive forever ... nothing does. Enjoy life and the time we have on earth.

Perhaps they love their life as much as we do, but do not have the capacity to understand why.

Like a mother bird protecting and nurturing her young, animals are not so different from humans.

It is ignorance to kill them for little or no reason; they are just trying to live.

I do not think that their brains are advanced enough to know their existence. Though I would prefer not to kill anything harmless, is it wrong to kill what is not there?

They weren't made like we were. I don't think that they know that they are even alive. Truth be told, I respect insects and other life forms as long as they don't come in my house to bother me.

love is not the life. hence all living beings have their own way of survival means. only motiveless actions means life miserable.
