Pornography is more available. As long as it's well managed, i don't see any wrong in it.
I think pornography helps in the sense that instead of raping someone, a man decides to watch a porn movie... that's a better decision, don't you agree?
I hope we'll grow to be more like the European because I don't see what's wrong about showing off b**bs and stuff.
Think about this: if at the beginning, the religion told us that showing off our knees was bad, we would all be wearing knee protection to cover them.
Religion always had lots of power (before, because people were ignorant - today because we were raised that way and we need to believe in something).
The more we are open minded, the better. That is my opinion.

It is definitely becoming more mainstream and acceptable. With more and more people believing that porn is almost necessary to sexual satisfaction, when, in reality, it damages a healthy sexual attraction to the average person of the opposite sex. Porn is more violent, more prepped, more 'perfect' than real-life love making, and so it ruins the real thing for many people. They start to crave porn and only porn scenes, so the real thing doesn't stack up to their expectations.
On the one hand, I believe it is good that sex can actually be talked about nowadays. It doesn't have to remain a closed-door subject. There's not shame when you discuss it to teach your kids, or with a counselor or your best friend. So we can be more educated about the whole process and how it works, unlike past generations. But I do think it is sad and pathetic that it has come to where sex is almost worthless in our society today. It is done on a whim cuz it feels good with whomever happens to be there at the time, with no thought to the intimacy that sex is supposed go with. The commitment and trust that makes it beautiful and enduring between a man and wife. Europeans are more open about their bodies, they're not ashamed of them no matter what they look like. They think the human form is gorgeous. That's a healthy outlook. But thinking sex is just like any other hobby to be pursued is disgusting. It's horrific what has to happened to the preciousness of making love in this country, and it's only going to get worse, b/c the adults who believe this way are raising their kids to be just as careless and irresponsible with this gift.
BTW, I guess I would be one of thoseright wing conservative 'cannibal' Christians.

Its definitely going that way.
Over the last two years its advanced to levels where the threshold between decent and porn has blurred.
Its not as if we want to keep it as a sort of taboo- we just want our children to grow up as good people and protect them from the nasty ones out there. Porn is OK when they are wise and strong enough to handle it well.
Is this trend good?-Well, however much the teens feels this, I cant see it as being good as in 'good' :-). So its definitely a thumbs down from me.
Culture is something that, I hope, stands the test of time.

The wolrd is being polluted daily and human values are swept under the carpet.
In the West, its ok. The prob is with 3rd World countries that still have some iota of consciousness in their cupboards.
We are living today in a VILLAGE and before you notice it, it will be fashion in these native underdeveloped areas that copy without remorse.
Too bad but its inevitable 'cos you keep your child away from viewing on tv, reading mags, he will meet friends and the trick is over come. Keep your fingers crossed.

It won't be called pornography anymore. Perhaps 'adult entertainment', in the same sense whicley is an adult beverage.
Here in Canada, they (govt/politicos) keep whining about how we need closer ties to Europe and less with the US. Yet they still refuse to bring in those European tv channels we all drool over, ummm, I mean, need to expand our cultural horizons. Only US shows in which even a hint of nudity is verbotten.

Sex is a very natural thing, and sure, we shouldn't let 3 year olds see porno movies, but there's nothing wrong with letting children know about sex at a young age.
The more they know about it, the less they want to find out on their own. It's the same with anything else. If you keep someone from something, they want it that much more. It's simply the way it works.

Yech. The hooray-let's-have-more-sex answers to your question are immature and ignorant.
We need less sex and violence on TV and in movies. Studies have shown they influence children to model themselves with these extreme behaviors.
Ladies, you'd like to see men treat you MORE like sex objects? Men, you'd like your friends to punch your lights out when you argue?
You want to be MORE like the no-growth, high unemployment, stagnant, politically correct to the nth power, appease-the-terrorists EUROPEANS? That's progress for you? You are sick sick sick.
Please move to Europe but stay away from here.
