Why are men sometimes so scathing about their spouses when out with the lads or behind her back?

Question

Notice that often women don't realise the way men talk out of ear shot - just wondered why they do?

If their wife is so bad - why not leave? If they want to cop off with other people - why get married in the first place? Why moan about their wife's contribution to the family finances yet not step up to the mark and help more with the familial and house chores at the same time?

Makes me so irked..

I'm male but even I was offended when a friend and I were waiting at a Garage for his wife to pick us up. Their estate car turned up and their Greyhound was lying in the back. The Garage owner said to my friend 'I didn't know you had a dog'.
My friend replied 'yes, I've got a greyhound too.'
A year or so later she did the best thing and left him.

It's human nature!! Some ppl just can't help themselves being like this. There will always be things about another person that annoys you. The adult thing would be to try and resolve it or as you say move on, rather than being disloyal. Women do it as well though so it's not just men

Even outside a marriage relationship, the typical reason somebody runs another person down in front of others (even those they profess to love), it's a lack of self-esteem. Deep down they believe that by running others down, they come off looking better in comparison, when in fact, they just come off looking like jerks. I hope for your sake you do not speak from personal experience, if you are, I am soooooo sorry.

Very simple but not really all of that comforting. Most men do not want their guy friends to know that they love their wife/girlfriends. Not cool to be whipped.
