I'm an avid bike rider, myself. If you plan on doing a lot of regular exercise on a bike, you need to know what kind is best for you. Where do you ride? Does your area have bike paths or do you plan to do these long rides on country roads?

Do you have back problems? No problem. They make special bikes called recumbents that are made for older people or those with bad backs / joints.

Just like other types of exercise, a good way to "stick with the program," is to sign up for an organized ride in your area. You can train to do distances that typically range between 50 - 100 miles. It depends on how long you've trained, what type of bike you use, and how flat or hilly the area is. This would be the equivalent of a runner doing a marathon or half-marathon.

And, if you're looking to burn fat / calories, believe me - biking fits the bill in that department. For instance, I burned 2300 calories on a 54 mile bike ride the first year I got into riding.

Whatever you decide, good luck.

I believe running or speed walking works more muscles than riding a bike. Riding a bike gets too boring for myself. You can cover more ground to quickly with a bike. Walk or run in the park and take in the scenery.

Personally I love riding my bike, you go so much faster and can go so much farther. So if you want to entertain yourself by going far and fast, I would say ride your bike. But I hear you feel really good for the rest of the day after you run for a couple miles.

Either, I would personally suggest running because whether you run or walk it still burns the same amount of fat. So if you get tired of jogging after a while stop, start walking for a bit and then gradually start to jog again. Take it easy and you will still lose weight but not hurt yourself.

Well if you bike you can still sit down and get your exercise at the same time so that's what I'd recommend. Once you get in better shape then you can run since you'll have more energy.

Swimming is seen the main perplexing/risky, with the objective to have all contributors "accounted" for on the commencing up is less complicated on the rescue workers contained in the open water....cycling is a means for a competitor to "get well" from the swim in a decreased impact way and then it outcomes contained in the run.....and having human beings walking over a end line means the form in hassle-free terms desires a chute or chutes designed for highway racing. it may make for a wild end if cycling ended issues. i be conscious of there are swim-coastline run-swim activities in Cali, nevertheless.
