My Beloved would, of course, be the sole answer if only "one person" was being sought to be identified.
But in all of our lives, there is always more than "one person" (such as our children, our friends, our co-workers, our neighbours, our correspondents, to name a few) who, intentionally or unintentionally, continually fulfill this role, in large or small doses, for each of us.

It used to be my mother, but she was diagnosed with Alzheimers about four years ago. She's just getting to the place where she's forgetting who I am. Talk about having a broken heart.
