From a societal standpoint, "races" are not equal, which is due to factors such as stereotypes, white supremacy, capitalism, etc.

What people don't realize is that the ideology of "race" is just an illusion. There's no truth behind the idea of "race." It's just a method of control over the masses. Throughout history, the ideology of "race" has been replicated and has become so embedded in our concious and subconcious, that we don't challenge the ideology. People just accept it as true.

There's no such thing as "race." There only difference between one person and the other is the amount of pigment the skin cells produces. There's only one category that people should group themselves under: Human Being.

No they are not! Take a sprint car. It has lots of horsepower, W-I-D-E tires and a big ole barn door sized wing on top. And they run like greased lightning, 129 MPH on a 3/8 or 1/2 mile track. Now consider a NASCAR Nextel Cup car. It's 2000 lbs. heavier than a sprint car, has little 12 inch wide tires, a small engine (388 cid)and an undersized carburetor (700 cfm). They only average around 110 mph on a 3/8 or 1/2 mile track. So why does NASCAR get all the press?..........Oh, you're not asking about race cars, are you? Sorry.

My gosh, you are right! Look at all the black chess masters! The overwhelming numbers of hispanics winning spelling bees. NASA pilots are SO saturated with ASIAN pilots. Where would NASCAR be without the Middle Eastern Drivers.

You have to look deeper than skin color on EVERYTHING, not just with individuals. The predominance of blacks, for instance, in some sports may have as much to do with opportunites (or lack of opportunities) as anything else.

For example: You don't get a ride as a NASA crewmember without a college degree. You certainly can't say that black people are not capable of earning degrees. Yet, the numbers of black crewmembers is still very limited. Heck, even on the ground, the images of NASA personel involved in the moon shot programs were virtually lily-white.

There were plenty of black scientists, mathematicians and technicians. I'ts just that the opportunities were not offered to them until recent years.

Real life is much, much deeper than the thickness of the television screen.

I would say that, physically and mentally, all races have the capacity to be equal overall. Individuals of any race will not be exactly equal, but overall I would say yes; there are intelligent people of all races, athletic people of all races, etc. I would, however, say that not all individuals are equal. There are people who are lazy, mentally and/or physically (stupid and/or obese), as well as people who are just plain insane.

Genetically there is no significant differences between races. People just like to segregate themselves into them and us. I guess it goes back to our tribal roots.

We always find a way to separate our selves into groups. If we all looked the same we'd wear jerseys. If jerseys aren't available we'd go shirts and skins. I guess it's just human nature. In all black africa they divide themselves into tribes. In Europe you have Celts, Gauls, Huns ect. are they really different races or just another arbituary way for keeping track of us and them.

The differences you point to are as much cultural as anything. The European basketball teams regularly beat our armature teams on a regular basis.

Christians and moslems(?) believe all human beings are equal. God created us so but with the passage of time, a deadly gragmentation has been created by human beings.
This is not working for the good of humanity.
You see, there are some races who think they are next to god while others are devels.
Far from it.
If you are a believer, know that befor god all are equal but with differnt talents.

yes, to say or imply htat races are not equal just because one race has a higher percntage of athletes is, in my opinion, wrong as there are many factors other than race to consider in regard to the domination of one race in sports over another.

All races are equal, but they are treated entirely differently. programs like affirmative action has turned into reverse racism, many liberals treat minorities with a higher respect than caucasians.
