Because your imagination is all in your mind.
You have a good concept though....have you ever thought of developing it? There have been experiments to show power of thought projected onto a computer screen. Go for it.'

And we could call it "ThoughtCast" or "MindsEye"! Your question reminds me of an old Ray Bradbury plot. Since the TV process makes images appear real and right in front of us, why not somehow connect and transmit part of the human brain's electrical activities known as thoughts onto a big screen? Of course, it might put a lot of scriptwriters out of work. Something roughly analogous to this is already being done in brain surgery. Since the human brain is used for good, bad, and fun, it occurs to me that a whole new set of laws and restrictions would have to grow up around it. Would someone have be to over a certain IQ level to subscribe? Also, would we permit children, the impaired elderly, the mentally ill, alcoholics and addicts, known criminals, and predators to subscribe to the service? Could a dog or a cat subscribe, and if not, why not? And how would these laws be regulated? It might be difficult to hone in and prosecute those who chose to abuse the system in private ( not sharing them) since so many of our thoughts, especially "bad" or sexual ones, we keep to ourselves. I guess the only way to bar what we generally term evil or destructive thoughts from being screened would be to have a censor wire ( a la Yamster) plugged into a tiny modem which had been implanted in the subscribers' brain. Of course, conservative religious groups and the far right would be dead set against MindsEye/ThoughtCast, because they would consider it to be witchcraft or the devil's plot. But if Congress and/or the Supreme Court finally okay-ed it, and if it was implemented with controls in place, then the far left and ACLU would strenously object. Anyhow, I doubt that we'll see this in my lifetime, but maybe in that of my children? It would be fun, though, and would probably be more addictive than the Internet!

Who says we can't? If you can't see what you're imagining on a tv, it may be because it wasn't worth imagining in our mind's eye, but, if we want to imagine something that we can see without a tv, well then, all we have to do is imagine with more clarity. It becomes easier with practice. Have fun! It's well worth the effort! God Bless you.

Everyone percieves things in different ways.
If I said to you ........ imagine a ball........ you might think of a huge red round object floating in the air, whereas I may be thinking of a yellow one bouncing on a playing field.
Individually though, would you really want your thoughts and feelings put on a screen in front of you? It might actually freak you out.
I know myself that I don't always have pleasant thoughts and if they were projected on to a screen for others to see I might be too ashamed!
I think thoughts should remain in ones head. They are safe there and can't be manipulated.

I think our thoughts are so confused, so mixed, so crazy that the TV would be broken if we could use such device.
If we could see what are we thinking (by our own mind) we would be a Zen monk.
So, the answer is: our mind must be focused before. To try to do it now would be a disaster! LOL

They are working on it, but aren't any where near to getting it to work. Once the scientists have the human mind mapped out, we may have a device that will allow us to picture what we see in our minds as a picture on a screen.
