I have a Fujitsu Lifebook S7010 with integrated Intel Pro Graphics with 64MB shared RAM. I'd like to get a Dell 24" monitor, but obviously the integrated graphics card can't support the resolution. Is there any way that i could get the two to work together? I'm not too keen on getting a whole new PC just so I can have the nice big monitor, so what are my options, if any?

The laptop has a VGA port and DVI through the docking station. True I could use the larger monitor at a lower resolution but that's defeating the purpose of getting the larger monitor. Is there anything else I could do apart from getting a new PC?

Neither with the internal video nor an external video device will your Fujitsu have the horsepower to drive a monitor at 1600x1200 resolution much less at 1920x1200. The best you could do with a USB device is 1280x1024, but then you'd be limited to 16-bit color due to bandwidth constraints.

If the laptop has a port for attaching a monitor, you should be able to use any monitor on it. But the video card is going to limit the resolution you can display on the monitor. Everything will propbably be "big" on the screen, but you can use it.

Your other alternative is to purchase an external video card. They do make some that attach through a USB port.

try asking Dell. I am not sure. But I am about 90% sure that if your laptop includes a VGA port, you can. Ask Dell, they are the manufacturer so, they will be 100% sure about the problem.
