Freezing to death is actually quite nice. The proper term for it is hypothermia.
you get cold you shiver as a way to generate heat, you get colder but you lack the energy to shiver , and you get more tired than you've ever been or will ever be. Eventually you find a place to die- totally relaxed
Heat stroke Hyperthermia- on the other hand is nasty . The body is completely dehydrated and it's core temperature rises rapidly as a result and you get dazed and confused - if not treated immediately death can & does come quickly.

Heat don't hurt like cold will so I rather go by heat. But I heard that you won't feel anything as you get close to freezing to death.....
