Honestly! If you really want your independence and your privacy, you will do something to change your current situation. I lived in Grand Forks, North Dakota during the 1997 flood which destroyed the town. FEMA came in, and so did a number of other charities and social service organizations to help people get back on their feet again.
Have you contacted any organizations like these? I know the Red Cross always helps wherever there is a natural disaster.
There is help out there if you want to seek it. Otherwise, like the guy up at the top said, you could always get a job...
Social services should have a housing placement program or something like that for people who are victims of Hurricane Katrina. Maybe you should do a search online, or something.
Cheers.

Being a college graduate has nothing to do with it. There are millions and millions of college graduates that don't have a job, there a thousands of college graduates that are homeless and living under bridges. Stop using that as reason for everything, and using it as an excuse not to get a job.
If you really wanted out of your living situation then you would get any job you could, get two jobs if that is what it takes.
Sitting on the internet and on yahoo answers is not going to solve a damn thing.
And there are millions of people from the hurricane that lost everything they owned and they are out there working odd jobs, construction jobs, whatever they can find in order to rebuild their lives. You are no better then any of them.

You can start by thanking God that you were not amongst the people who lost their lives. You are truly blessed already, since you are living with relatives you have no privacy, that sort of have a right to invade it. There are organizations who help Katrina victims, although i am not a fan of the welfare system it is to beused for people like yourself who are down on their luck. Try to find anykind of job for the time being rent a room or something to get away from your family cause it sounds to me they may be bringing your spirits down you need to lift yourself back up and do better than you ever did so you never have to depend on them for anything ever again. Although you may not be able to see it now your future can be one you never dreamed of take this experience you have encountered and and learn from it everything happens for a reason. Somehow i know you will be okay so take the good with the bad,and do not feel sorry for yourself i already have that covered cause i know you have been through hell! Good Luck in your future endeavors and always remember that God spared your life for a reason.

try to stay focused on the job search. you might consider looking for a job that is willing to help you relocate to another area. after the hurricane so many people are trying to recover and look for work that it may be difficult. in the mean time, try to get out of the house for cheap outings like hanging out at a bookstore, coffee house or park. call alumni services at the college you graduated from and see if there are resources available...they often have job leads and other connections to help you. there's usually info for alumni available online at your school site. hang in there!

One option would be to look for someone who already has an apartment or house that needs a roommate. This way you can avoid getting rejected due to your credit, and if you can get your name on the lease you can start rebuilding a good credit record provided you and your roommate pay your rent and bills on time.
Yeah it can be unpleasant to have to deal with roommates but it sounds like a step-up from what you're currently stuck with and it is a likely necessary step toward re-establishing your credit and getting your own place again.

Get a job honey and save some money. Move out on your own. Start fixing your credit. Believe in God and yourself. Hang in there.

Keep looking for a place, and a job.. go to the next town, then the next. Set yourself free.

No wonder you are so defensive! I think it is time to put your degree into use and go for the bottom of the totem pole! It will change your life. As long as you sit there and allow nothing to change, you will never improve your life.

work more, so that you dont have to be home as often, and save as much as possible. itll take time, but u wont be there as often if you are working all the time. once you have enough money, move out.... even if you have to go to the next town over.
