We here in the West Midlands Pay a standard £1.20, no matter how far the bus is going, sounds good, but it's 80p for a short hop, i.e 3 stops, its fine if your going from Wolverhampton to Birmingham, or vice versa, and, for an all day pass, it's the same as yours, £1.80, or, if there are 5 of you , you can all travel anywhere for £5, all day. Hope this helps.

In London, it's £1.50. This means that a 3-stop return journey into Lewisham costs me £3.00. I can take the car into Bromley (which is a superior shopping centre by far) and park it there all morning for £2.10. It's about time Ken livingstone sat down and did some math.

In Cambridge it's £2.70 for a single bus ride from my village into the city centre - a journey of 5 miles.

I don't know about a single trip but I know it's £3.50 for an all day pass in Sheffield ( apparently we have some of the most expensive bus travel in Britain)
