According to much research on the subject. Ghosts are individuals who are seeking redemption for "naughtiness" when they were living. To take the life or cause the death of another living human would send the direct to hell. So no ghosts can not directly take a human life.
There is only one way that a ghost can be a cause of the death of a living person. That is when they scare someone to death because of thier presence.

As far as I know there has never been any real recorded incidents of a ghost hurting a person.I've done some research on the subject and I can't find any.There have been some incidents reported but they turned out to be fake.

honey,,,, there is instances of things accuring like you are describeing, one thing to remember, its not no one that has died,, there is only to different beings sure as this on earth,,, some are demons and some are angles, your own spirit will idenify a good feeling or an evil feeling, so you can tell which is there, if it is a bad presence, talk to God about the situation , dont go calling priests or anything ,,,i am asumeing you are a christian, if not and it be demans ,,,it will devour you , some cases even enter you, you need Jesus and the Holly ghost in you, if you have the Holly ghost in ya and you are saved ,,relax,,, ask god to remove them and he will, if you do not ,,than you need to ask Jesus in your life and repent of your sins and the Holly ghost will dwell in you ,,, hope this helps ,,,a friend

Only in fiction. In supposed "real" hauntings, individuals have died from falling down stairs, jumping through windows, etc. However, there is no record of a ghost actually being the direct cause of death. Now demons................
