If you lose your Internet connection, how long do you wait til you call tech support?

I never said I couldnt connect--I work in tech support--Youd be surprised that some people call within seconds of it going down--without troubleshooting their end

Do you have dial-up or high speed? If you have high speed, you can almost always re-establish the connection by turning off your computer, and turning off your modem and unplugging it for a few seconds, then plugging it back in and restarting everything.

You might also check to see if your bill was paid.

How did he get on to ask this question if his internet connection is down?

I would think that someone who was a tech would know to be a little more specific when asking a question like that.

I'll try everything I can to try to re-establish my connection on my own, then I'll wait 3 or 4 hours before calling, only to have some schmuck tell me there must be something wrong with my computer.

Depends are you in a storm right at the moment? If not I would call them as soon as possible someone could be messing with your connection. Or another question to ask yourself was this a promotional thing did you pay your monthly payment. Did your credit limit expire. Questions to ask yourself. But if all those check okay then right away.

if you are on a storm wait to the storm pass then do every thing you know to repair you are paying them to work for you dont be afraid to call beside i already call they are nice peaple
