Make sure you make the best grades you can in all of your classes, get a lot of volunteer hours, participate in after-school activities and join clubs. The more you can juggle and do all of it well, the better. Also, study and do your best on the SAT and ACT. It does help to do practice tests for those, and it is okay to take it more than once. Another idea is to contact an adivsor there and ask questions.

Being involved in your present school and showing an interest in the college are the best ways I can think of. When it comes time to apply, make sure you have good letters of recomendation, and you write a very good essay (and have it checked over by a teacher or advisor before submitting it). Some schools want interviews, so remember to dress and speak well. Don't forget to apply to scholarships! Yale can be pretty expensive. That's all the adive I can think of right now. Good luck on your highschool career and work hard!

Keep your grades high, take challenging courses, get involved in at least 2-3 after school activities (when I say involved I mean do more than just show up to meetings), practice essay writing, and have a good rapport with your teachers and guidance counselor (you'll need letters of recommendation from them when you apply). Same is true in making the transition from college to career. Good luck!

how are your grades? If they are great then make sure you have teachers that can support you by writeing you recommendations. If they are good, think about takeing a few semesters at a community college first. I never finished my high school and went to get my GED. Now I am at a community college and have been offered scholarships to universities across the country. Good luck, and dont forget to put all your volunteer work in your file.

make sure you study for your SAT's getting into Yale is very competitive. Because its so competitive, besides your good grades, they want to see you do something that sets you apart from other students. Don't just join a whole bunch of clubs and think that will be enough. Itll take effort, do something for your community or something in a club that makes you stand out as a leader.

Get mostly As, and take the hardest classes your school offers. Getting a B in an honors or AP class is better than an A in a regular class.

Get involved in lots of activities. Be a leader in something (e.g., team captain, club treasurer, etc)

Do you happen to know anyone who went to Yale? Maybe someone from your church (or similar, if you attend one)? Connections always help.

When you apply for college, you'll need to get recommendations from your teachers, and probably from someone outside of school. Make friends with your teachers, talk to them outside of class if you can, so they can get to know you and eventually write you outstanding recommendations.

Find out who the alumni are and create a friendly relationship with them .
Once you apply and they like you, a recommendation from them will help.

Are you in a private school or an upscale public one? If not, you're already SOL.
