Just be friendly and they'll like you.
Girls don't like it when guys come on really hard so just relax. And don't use any stupid pick up lines.

Notice something about her (not her body, not anything from the neck down) and say "oh, cool hair. pretty eyes. cute nose." Or (and this is better) say something complimentary about something she's wearing.
Avoid saying anything negative - about you or her or anything else.
Ask open-ended questions (that can't be answered with a simple yes or no).
Don't interrogate her. Don't machine gun her with bazillions of questions. Be prepared to say (good) things about yourself. Play yourself up (without lying), hell, nobody else is gonna.
Smile. In fact, make sure for sure you're in a happy mood before you approach her.
Don't talk too fast. Give her a moment to realize that you're hitting on her. She'll either take it as a compliment or she'll sort of reject you. Don't worry about rejection, that's what stalking is for. Ah.. just kidding. Rejection happens to *every* guy, get used to it, don't doubt yourself for a second and move on to the next girl.
Humor is good. Laughing is the most fun you can have with your clothes on - remember that.
Don't spaz. Make sure you're calm, calm like a Buddhist monk whose meditating in a zen garden before you approach her.
Alternatively, you could just whip out your schlong and hold it like a puppet and in a squeaky voice say "hey baby! How's it goin'?"

Most women seem to hate pickup lines. Try to be natural and just introduce yourself, or maybe ask if she would mind if you got her a drink. Be easy going, and don't have any expectations. Above all, don't get offended if she doesn't want to talk to you. There are always more where she came from.
