You can buy a live trap that will not harm the squirrel. After you capture him, take him somewhere and release him. You also need to locate where the squirrels are coming in and and repair the hole.
If they are entering from a vent that needs to be open, cover it on the inside with a metal screen. Make sure when you do this, that no squirrels are already in your loft. Even if you are not concerned for the squirrels, you will be of the smell!

Put a radio up there, and tune it to a talk station, so that it sounds like people are there 24/7. I read about this, and it is supposed to work to get them out, and then you plug the hole they used to get into your loft.

Squirrels are regarded as vermin, so I would contact my local council if I were you and ask if they have a service to get rid of them. It might cost you but it has to be worth it in the long run.
Best wishes

You might have to seal off where they are going in. Make sure you have them all out first. Put a smoke bomp . Are they scare of people if so put a small doll around that area with clothes that have your scent. It helps like a scare crow some times. Pem

your local council will get rid of them for a charge, they are vermin so you do really need to get rid of them, they dont have to be harmed, probably only other way is to try to coax them with food, but i think you are better the first way i said, my husband thinks we,ve got bats in ours! hope you get sorted
