When we find something extremely funny, we tend to cry. Why is this?

We cry when we are full of emotion not jsut because we are sad.
Have you ever felt the need to cry when you feel REALLY proud of your kids or something.
I remember when my daughter was learning to walk i would cry and almost burst with pride!

Some anthropologists had suggested that laughter was a social behavior that was developed to express non-aggression. This show of non-aggression expression is very similar to the expression in "fear" and "crying". An example cited was the expression of the faces of people when they are on a roller-coaster ride. The excitement of the ride is reflected in the faces whereby the lips are pulled back, the eyes are tensed shut and facial muscles are tightened. This position is very similar to smiling or laughing. The overwhelming emotion can also bring about tears in this non-confrontational exhibition of social accommodation.

Laughing and crying are closely related emotions and often well up together. Ever laugh at a funeral?

That is simply due to the PHYSIOLOGY of this thing we call "our body." When we laugh, the cavity called our diaghram "rubs" up an down our torso, which has nerve-sensors connecting to our neck, which connects to our sinuses. So, in a round-about way when we overexert our diaghram, we cause the tear ducts in our sinuses to excrete tears into our eyes (their only source of ductwork.)

i dont know if this is why but im guessing b/c u put pressure on ur head when u laugh so u end up crying sometimes when u laugh

We laugh so much that we loose our breath and we get tears in our eyes ,but we don't cry.

cuz it's so darn funny,the other day I was crying and laughing cuz my long lost aunt called and she wouldn't let me get a word in edge wise all I said to her was hello and bye, I think it's still funny...........
