I recently helped produce 2 shows on a traditional radio station that also simultaneously broadcast on the internet and uploaded both shows as on-demand internet podcasts at http://www.kcaaradio.com/special.html . Where can I find more stations where I can do the same thing on a limited budget or free? I want to produce more shows & to reach both people who don't have internet & those who do. Where are lists of stations for me to approach? Where are resources to help me get started? Where are people who might considering sponsoring my shows? Where can I find lists of talk shows where I might be a guest? Is shortwave broadcasting a viable option? If so, how do I get started in shortwave radio? Where are lists of the stations & resources that can help me to reach my goals?

A good site to find any station in the country as well as their format, and even what shows they carry is
www.radio-locator.com

I did not get a chance to click on your link to check out your shows yet, I will later though. What type of program are you looking to have?

Perhaps I can be of some assistance to you. I have worked for a few years producing radio programs in a top 25 market. I was also a co-producer for the NHL Pittsburgh Penguins Radio Network. I was also an associate producer for the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers Radio Network. I am currently working as a regional Program Director for a cluster of radio stations.

I would be happy to give you some pointers on how to get your show off the ground. You can e-mail me if you wish with any question you may have.

I must admit, I really don't know much about shortwave radio. I do know it is not a very good alternative to regular, or satellite radio for the simple fact that not that many people actually have shortwave radios in this country. It may be more popular in other parts of the world, but not many shows in the US are carried only on shortwave radio. You may be able to look into it as a supplemental outlet for your show, but I would not put all of your eggs in the shortwave basket!

Finding people to sponsor a show may be tricky. Sometimes the individual stations will want to sell the ad time their selves. If you are looking to place your program on a time-brokered station, you can pre-sell the entire show, then use the money to actually purchase the block of time to air your program on that station. If you are looking to just do a show as an actuall employee of any station, you would first need to get hired. You can accomplish that by sending air-check tapes of your programs to the Program Directors of each station you want to have your show air on.

I hope I was able to hepl you out a little. Don't forget, You can always e-mail me if you have any other more specific questions.

Allow me to wish you much luck in getting your program off and running.
