Someone told me once, "Freeze your teeth and give your tongue a sleigh ride." I did, and it was refreshing.
Love, Jack.

Now, seriously this is a good question and there should be a rating system and if there was I would rate it a ten..Ten being the highest of course.
I dont know if this was a type of advice but it definately has always been in my mind and had a lot to do with motivating me in my darker days.
This family member came up to me once, and at this time in my life I was really messed up on drugs and my life was in the pits and everyone was giving up on me, and I don't blame them. But this family member kept telling everyone that knew me and he told me too. Don't worry hes gonna be fine !
And it was that positive re-inforcement towards me that gave me hope in myself and now I can do the same sort of thing towards others that are in desperate need !

My mother always seemed psychic while driving. She would say things like "I bet that car while cut in front of us and then brake." And it would happen. As a child, I was awed by this. I finally asked her about it when I was a teenager. She told me "When driving, think of the stupidest thing another driver could possibly do. That way you'll be ready when they do it." Sadly, it's true. My grandmother always told me "Live and let live," and "Always moisturize."
Because of these pieces of advise, I'm a decent driver, open minded and have good skin. Yay!

My sainted Mother told me not to feel of myself too much. Meaning not to be so involved in my own take on life. She also felt that "feeling of oneself too much" was a common failing that was leading to a shallow self-centered society. She has long left us. But I think her advice was quite good. I like to think it affected my career and hopefully my personality. I am an RN and I hope a good man. If that is not an oxymoron as some of my woman friends would insist. (Grin)

Well I usually get bits of advice from songs, people, articles, and movies. And then I can sometimes write something and when I look back at it, I realize that I should be listening to what I'm saying.
Here are a few things:
"Sometimes you just gotta say wtf"~ my mom
"You can learn from others differences"~ Joey
"Dont know whatcha got till its gone" ~Cinderella-band
"Silence isnt golden when I'm holdin it inside"~GNR
"Buildings burn, people die, but real love is forever"~the crow
"Sometimes you gotta take a chance on yourself"~hutchence/maxQ
"Sleeping beauty trips me with a frown,I hear a voice, You must learn to stand up for yourself, cause I cant always be around" ~Tori Amos

My grandmother who was a great and wonderful woman always told me to be myself and to follow my heart and make my dreams come true no matter how hard it would be or how many people would be against it. If I would give up on what I believe in and in my dreams I would give up on myself and never be able to shine my light into the world and able to be of meaning to others.
This advice made me who I'm today and it gives me the strenght to never give up and to always believe in myself and not to worry about what others may think of me.

One of my teachers told me, in the context of a larger conversation, "Just breathe for a second." Ever since, I have done my best to be more relaxed and less stressed. Type B personalities live longer and happier.

My father told me a quote that he had heard somewhere which said:
"Where ere thou art, act well thy part"
This has changed my life, because it reminds me to always do my best even if the work sucks.
