need laptop while at work, do not get paid for over time and do not take work at home, I download images and information from the net for my classes, and always use power point to make my clases, office to keep my appointments, excell at home for expenses. burn cds and dvd. Have ipod and love music, use for my job and entertainment at home

Just about any computer you can buy brand new will be able to handle all of these tasks with ease. Dell is not a bad company overall, and their lowest end PCs or Laptops would be sufficient for all of these except for burning DVDs. You'd be able to do it if you upgraded, but don't expect it to take less than around 2 hours.
