You just answered a question of mine so I'll answer one for you.
I don't agree that it is "the root of all evil", as the saying goes. anything people want can be a cause of acts that some may call 'evil' so money has plenty of competition in that contest.
But I would judge money to be the greatest cause of 'it' (I hate the word evil because it has way too much force and way too little clarity of meaning)
Money essentially tells people that they as individuals can't be trusted to provide a fair benefit to others, and so must offer money to prove themselves. Most people probably feel this is the correct way, but I'm one that thinks it's wrong. I think that one of the strongest urges that are genetically passed to us is to be accepted by others- and by society. Because of this it seems that people will gladly contribute their share without being forced.
Money is also the most EXPENSIVE thing there is, in terms of money! Think about everything in our system that is necessary to keep the money system going.

I don't agree. People are motivated by different things. Some are motivated by money, but others are motivated by power or fame or a dozen other things.
I would say that GREED is a better choice if you want a root of all evil. Greed for power, money, more land, fame or whatever leads to war, murder and a whole host of other evils.

Yes the love of money is evil. We all need money to live on, that is a lot different. Just look at Enron and how those men at the top that loved money so much they destroyed people lives and didn't and still don't care.

Yes money is the root of all evil, people will do crazy things for money, for example look at what Bush is doing to keep hold of his money..money is power to some people.

funds is in hardship-free words the basis of evil if someone takes it out of finished greed. it is at the same time as someone begins to 'love' funds and positioned it in the front of God and their relations. Edit: putting that on the dollar bill has no longer some thing to do with loving funds. it is a reminder that we are a Christian usa and we would want to continually positioned one yet another previously our funds. It shows us to spend our funds properly and under no circumstances use it for selfish applications.

It's not 'money is the root of all evil', it's "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil."
'nuff said.
