Im searching for an LCD monitor, I've been having some eye problems. anyways, what doest 450:1 or 500:1 mean?? What other features does a LCD have that a CRT monitor doesnt?? Which brand do you recommend? Thanks.

The 450:12 and 500:1 is the contrast ratio. Something that a LCD (liqud Crystal Display) has that a CRT doesnt is the amount of space it tgakes up.

LCD monitors are really thin and a little more expensive. They don't project the image onto a screen like CRT. You can think of a CRT like a TV, it is really deep. LCD is really thin like a plasm TV. I have 3 view sonic LCD 19" monitors that I'm VERY happy with. I will never get another CRT monitor again.

what doest 450:1 or 500:1 mean?? It is the aspect ratio of the screen. Check this out. It explains it all.. Good luck
