It's dumb if it's rhetorical or the answer is self-evident.

They say there is no such thing as a dumb question. I think any question asked honestly to get information is okay. But I also think it is a bit of a waste of time to ask things you could easily find the answer to. In homework help there are a lot of "What is 2 + 2?" type questions, which could be figured out quite easily. Then there are the questions designed to insult a group of people. "Why are all _____ so dumb?" or "Why are all Mexicans illegal?" or those that glorify illegal behaviors.
Addendum: Just found the perfect example of a stupid question.
What should I tell my woman?
The mother of my 8th child is acting stupid. I told her I was still in love with the mother of my 3rd child, but I am living with the mother of my 2nd child. What should I do.

I have often been told the only dumb question is the one that is not asked.
How am I to know what is dumb and what is not. I do not have the right to judge others intelligence as I am not finished learning myself.
