all people are entitled to what they would want to think of themselves but it does not necessarily mean that it's the truth. if the americans think they are god's gift to mankind...let them believe it. it would not kill us but it would kill them one day when they realize that they have been living a lie.

I think that when anybody gets too much power they think they are above everyone else. I think most americans do not think they are the greatest, just the ones people see on TV, which is misleading. If people from other countries could see all the poor people, sick people, and kindhearted people in the USA their view may change. Unfortunately, every day americans are not glamourous but TV ratings would go way down if more people saw the average american and how they live. Don't get me wrong, I am an american and have run into the stuffy, stuck-up, bad attitude people you are talking about. I am sure they are in every country, we just expose ourselves more.

I used to live in Saudi Arabia. They thought they were the greatest.
I had a friend from Japan. He was sure the Japanese were the greatest.
My grandmother was born in Sicily. She always told us that the Sicilians were the greatest.
I have some French friends. Guess what country they think is the greatest?
The point is every country is proud of themselves and every country thinks that theirs is the greatest. The only reason you are sick of American attitudes is because of the dominance of the American media.

There you go lumping all people together.
What is wrong with Americans?
I guess we have a attitude because everyone looks towards this country for help. Because this Country is the last Great World Power.
Because this country is young but strong. Countries much older than ours are still backwards and undeveloped.
Our "Western Medicine " is much more advanced , our agriculture is more advanced .
Our country is strong because the strong people and foreword thinking people came here and settled here. Immigrants that made something of their opportunity.

Why do you, self appointed leader of the rest of the world, stereotype Americans into one group of people? Do you not pay attention to the politics and debate in our country to realize that we don't see eye to eye on anything? So believe me when I tell you that every person in America should not be defined as a unified attitude, and if the rest of the world truly does not want America's help in times of war, catastrophe, natural disaster, or oppression, then how about You, who has somehow elected yourself the leader to speak for every single life that this country willingly sacrifices lives and money to help, how about YOU send back all the troops and don't cash the checks written to YOU. That would be a true testament to how much YOU and YOUR WORLD are tired of us.

Because they can't understand that when they are trying to 'help us' they are really trying to mould history. They don't realise that some of us come from countries which were already civilized quite some time before Signor Columbus 'discovered' them. They also don't know that the Irish and the Vikings had discovered their existence a thousand years earlier but saw no reason to shout about it at that time. WQe now know that the earlier discoverers knew something that the subsequent jokers did not

ALL not almsot all but ALL the people I know here in the states, either have something bad going for them, or they struggling to feed their family & survive, or they living decent enough to come home to their families and spend their time with them.... it's the GOVERNMENT that your talking about.. which most of us is like WTF is Bush doing to us... He's sits there and think we all might powerful, and we have the right to do anything we choose to with the world. It's the country's war, and Bush or some other politicial person thinks it's ok to budge in and think we the good guy... Come on now... even Clinton wouldn't go derail millions living in 2 different countries just because the F of it....

Lets see. We are the worlds only superpower. We grant more in aid than most countries GNP's combined. Our music, and movies well overall entertainment industry is loved all over the world. We have become the 911 for nearly every country in the last 120 years. I can keep going if you need me to. Don't generalize us though. I don't ask why all English people have bad teeth.

I do not have an attitude. Just because I am an America Doesn't mean I have one. It seems to that the rest of the world hates us. They drag us into there **** by attacking us out of thin air. Happened in ww2 and now. We do not have anything against the world. It seems the world has everything against us and I have no idea why. Can you tell me why?

Given a choice I would not live any other place but in America. Our attitude is what keeps us on the top of the rest of the world.

I am an American. Any one who thinks they are greater than anyone else is deluded and caught up in the belief that they can judge others. To judge others is to judge yourself because we are all connected. Yes, when in the presence of someone with this affliction it is disturbing but everyone operates from their own level of consciousness and in turn should not be judged. Just live your life the best you can and do not take it personal . LOVE
