Info on Baton Rouge?

I plan on moving to baton rouge in a few months, I have been wondering how the crime rate is there since katrina?

It's getting better. Many of the NO residents moved back home but there was crime in BR before Katrina.

I don't live in BR but in a town 50 miles south. I heard that the crime in New Orleans is worse though. Baton Rouge is pretty cool though.
