There is no right or wrong answer to this question.
Every single person that ever lived has been important to the grand plan of things in their own way. Who is to say what would have happened if the woman who lived 10 doors down, 50 years ago had not happened to visit the shops, meet & chat to someone. Maybe she prevented that person from being knocked down by a car on the way home.

Not counting Christ who was human and devine I would say Mother Teresa. She was from a upper middle class family yet chose to spend her entire life ministering to the wretched souls in India's Black Hole of Calcutta. She also admonished Clinton
on an airport tarmac for his support of abortion.Pope John Paul II is equally deserving for telling peoples of all faiths not what they wanted to hear but what they needed to hear.

Jesus Christ.

Even if you are not a Christian, his ideas helped develop two other religions, Judaism and Islam. They also influence the ethics of people in the West who do not profess any religion more than most of them realise.

Compared to other religious leaders, one particularly notable aspect of Jesus' message was the importance of loving one another for a good life.

Since your question is "Who is the greatest person of all time?"
I find it difficult to answer.

I haven't known too many 'great persons' in my present life time.

I think from writings of a spiritual nature,
historical, scientific, artistic, there can be and are dozens ( thousands ?) of legitimate answers.

Jesus of Nazareth, Ramses II, Joan of Arc, Leonardo Da Vinci, Giacomo Puccini, Thomas Merton, Doctor Tom Dooley, Kateri Tekakwitha,
Imhotep, George Washington, Yul Brynner, Willie Mays, My mom and dad...my friend Gail Opacity...all great people, wonderful persons, in my estimation...and there are so many more.

It is difficult to put myself in the place of JUDGE. Who am I to make that statement? ..."and the greatest of these is"...???? beyond my knowing.

Love,
Lily

Jesus Christ. Many centuries have come and gone, and today He is the central figure of the human race ..... and the leader of the column of progress/ Yet we believe that we are far within the mark when we say that : ..... all the armies that have marched, ..... and all the kings that have reigned, all put together .... have not affected the life of man upon this earth, as has that One Solitary Life, the life of Jesus.
