they are associated with pain, so why do we moan and groan while having sex if it feels so good? We need to find other words to describe our noises if sex if pleasurable.

It all depends. I don't think sex is painful. Perhaps people moan and groan due to the intensity of orgasmic pulses. They might be too strong that it causes a sudden outburst through the vocal cords.
But yeah, sex can be painful. I heard that if someone is nervous or afraid, then there will be mostly pain.

Dictionaries reflect common usage little more. People moan and groan for lots of reasons, like a really good pun. The sounds themselves are not an indicator of why they're being made.

Sex is never painful, unless it is forced. People are using wrong words to describe sexual pleasure. Really it can't be described in words. The sounds that are produced during the act are sounds of intense pleasure.
