Someone thats scream, yell, and talk bad to you in abusive words

It could be two different forms.
1) The person yells at you, curses you all the time, you don't want to upset them because you know it will start a fight.
2) The more subtle way - the person never has anything good to say to you. You drop a sandwich on the floor by accident and they call you stupid and clumsy. Not yelling it, just say it in disgust. You ask them a question about something on TV and they say you are too dumb to understand. You put on nice clothes and they say you are getting too fat. These slowly tear away at your self-confidence, but they are actually verbal abuse.

You stupid, pathetic loser. Where do you come off asking a question like that? Only a loser would ask that. You gotta be the dumbest person ever . Probably ugly and smelly too. THAT'S verbal abuse.

Someone that puts other people down to purposely hurt them. Verbal abuse can include cursing or continually emotionally beating someone down.

Mental abuse-such as name calling, threats, mind games. It is opposite of physical abuse by anything that hurts you but not by the hand.

They put you down, make you feel bad about yourself. It might involve teasing, making crude remarks in private or in public. Not necessarily yelling or fowl language either. Sometimes it might be a cynical look .
