Life always seeks a meaning for existence and purpose for being alive. To love and be loved is another goal that is a driving force for the quest in life. Ultimately, its redemption from SIN. "What shall it profit man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?" Life should seek salvation at the end of it all.

Hi Dreamer,
Another thought provoking question. :-)
Like a tiny trickle of water finding its way down a mountain, life seeks expression. Sometimes it lies as placid lakes reflecting the splendor of the heavens, sometimes it rushes merrily on its way, sometimes it takes leaps and thunders from great heights plunging itself into rainbow sprays, sometimes it's a rivulet sneaking between rocks.
Like this trickle, life seeks to join other life and become more than it was before, or realizes itself as being more than it thought it was. It seeks communion of one sort or another, with pools of thought, lakes of compassion, rivers of joy, it travels onward through time, fluidly building momentum or lackadaisically soaking in beauty as it expresses itself in an ever changing myriad of forms.

Life seeks to express itself and to find itself.
It seeks to express itself perfectly through YOU.
It seeks to find itself because it enjoys the game of hide n seek.
In this game of Leela, the life energy forgets itself when cloaked as human, and then the joy comes from remembering who we really are and seeing that we're all connected and composed of the same living light.
When you become a hollow bamboo life will play it's music
through you unobstructed and beautifully. This is what what life seeks: for us to wake up and to have it's divine music heard.
Great question, dreamer.
~~~~"As you awaken to your spirit, Creation unfolds itself to you,
for your spirit is a perfect, divine expression of nature and its
principles."
I love GC's answer, but my first thought was...life seeks life. It seeks to live and survive... I'm sure that just must be instinct.
I think it's Love.......a meaningless meaning
Theory
by Dorothy Parker.
Into love and out again,
Thus I went, and thus I go.
Spare your voice, and hold your pen-
Well and bitterly I know
All the songs were ever sung,
All the words were ever said;
Could it be, when I was young,
Some one dropped me on my head?
or try this....
Be Lost to The Call
by Rumi
Reality replied: O prisoner of time,
I was a secret treasure of kindness and generosity,
and I wished this treasure to be known,
so I created a mirror: its shining face, the heart;
its darkened back, the world;
The back would please you if you've never seen the face.
Has anyone ever produced a mirror out of mud and straw?
Yet clean away the mud and straw,
and a mirror might be revealed.
