The sad truth is people only care about themselves; the here and now. And 40 years from now, WE will be the ones regretting actions, looking at our children and wondering 'how did it get like this?'

Speaking for myself as a conservative. Theres no denying that the planet is warming, I am not convinced that the reasons are due to fossil fuels. Im not an expert in this field, few people are. My guess is NOBODY on here is an expert. Theres enough "evidence" from both sides of the argument. The scientific community is not in agreement if the warming is a natural cycle or man made. People believe what they want to believe. Im more interested in truth rather than political bandstanding. I saw Gores movie, Im not convinced and many of his claimes are easily proven as exagerated or completely false.

No they dont all own stock in oil companies, but they do tend to have alot of money. Remember the golden rule: Whoever has the gold, makes the rules. The majority of thier wealth comes from industry related ventures. Industry creates chemicles that affect the environment, which causes global warming. As long as they are making money they will not be swayed by liberals such as myself. The best we can do is keep the pressure on and elect officials that are not easily bought by big industry.

Skerry's got it. Liberals always have to present end of the world situations so that they can convince the world that they are actually needed. Without all the doom and gloom, no one would listen to the Libs.
It's just like when Bush was re-elected. All the Libs said he was going to re-instate the draft. I knew college kids that were absolutely terrified because they thought this was the truth. However, it hasn't happened, and it won't. Liberals have no viable political platform and offer no alternatives to the current administration. All they can do is Fear-Monger and try to scare people into voting for them.
Jack's got an excellent point as well! The "End of the World Scenario" is always changing to fit the needs of the Doom and Gloomers.

The earth's climate goes through cycles. It is hard to discern whether or not what we are experiencing at the moment is normal or caused by all the crap spewing into the atmosphere. I believe our pollution is causing some of the current warming trend, but I also believe we are just experiencing a natural warm cycle at the same time.
See a lot of problems can not be explained using such black and white answers. The earth is very complex and is influenced by multiples of factors.

Don't even try to blame global warming on conservatives alone.I live in a city plagued with liberals,None of whom walk anywhere. That computer you are using is a product of oil,so ya better get rid of it.Oh shucks,i forgot.Only liberal elitists are entitled to consume earths resources. If your life's passion is to save the planet from us evil ,oil consuming conservatives, then get educated in the physical science field and find a solution instead of pointing fingers.

I wish we would, but humans are never going to stop f*#$ing the earth until it's nothing but something from mad max or waterworld. Maybe instead of trying to slow the inevitable, we should just speed it up and rid this beautiful planet of it's biggest problem...us! On another note...yeah the US could be better, but instead of pointing fingers at one party from one country, why not bump it up a notch and look for sanctions againts countries with NO pollution regulations. Bad as the US might be, if the rest of the world just got up to the point we are, THAT would make a difference, not some conservative senator requiring cars to meet a specific emmisions in their state.

I can't speak for conservatives, since I'm not one. But I think many of them believe global warming is occurring, but are skeptical of much of the "evidence." Frankly, I agree with them that there is a LOT of goofy science, not to mention anti-capitalist politics, surrounding it.
One thing that makes me suspicious is how it is no longer called "global warming." For better PR purposes, it has been morphing into "global climate change" for the past few years. That is VERY telling.
Love, Jack.

I think we should be and always have been concerned with the environment. It shouldn`t matter whether global warming is occuring or not.We should have enough common sense to know that our environment is delicate and needs to be taken care of without a scientist or anyone else having to tell us.Why do people have to wait until the house is on fire, before they install a smoke alarm?

"Do all conservative own stock in oil companies?" No just Al Gore--Occidental Petroleum. He also owns two huge homes and still hasn't applied to the electric company to use "green materials" to run them. Sure, he'd have to pay a little more, but he can afford it especially if he truly believes in what's in his film. Even the Bush administration has gone Green. If he doesn't believe his own drivel, why should anyone else? It's just liberal propaganda.

The same reason why we didn't believe your tripe in the 70s about Global Cooling.
Today's liberals are tomorrow's fools.
1930 was by far the hottest decade. Lots of CO2 emissions then, eh?
Liberals are creatures that feed off of emotion, and they get hysterical and shoot theories instead of looking at facts. That's why they call Bush, "Hitler".
It's called climatic fluctuations.
The Questioneer evidently has no problem with Islamofascism. Typical non-thinking liberal.
