I don't think there is anything that smells better than sheets dried on the line with sunshine and fresh air. However, that is no longer an option for me.
When my doctor told me that what ever I do not to line dry my clothing, I was shocked. I have know for many years that I have allergies, but never considered that this would add to it. He said the worst thing you can do is to line dry your clothing. The pollen and other allergens adhere to the fabric when it is wet.
Now, I thought I was a well educated person and was doing everything I could for my health, but I was wrong.
Remember me when you take down your next set of sheets of the line and ENJOY!

I actually love to hang my families clothing outside on a clothsline.
The problem I have had though is I can only find this yucky plastic coated line to use and it always mildews. It's impossible to keep it cleaned off the line so I end up not hanging anything out.
I think it is terrible that some home owners associations have banned the use of clothes lines. What are they thinking??? It's an eyesore??? I agree with you it's a good way to save this planet's energy resources. I don't think clean fresh laundry is an eyesore and I dont care if my neighbor hangs their out. I mean really people we ALL wear clothing and it's insane to have these ridculous hang up's about undies hanging out on a line.

To be honest I really used to love pulling my freshly cleaned clothes out of a hot dryer. They smelled good, they were soft and fluffy. MM MM MMMMMM.
But... Now I that I live in an apartment and just have a washing machine, I have really adjusted to line dried. My clothes and whatnot are stiffer at first, but my sheets feel great! And it is fun, I enjoy putting stuff on the line. And it is such a nice surprise to find them nice and dry at the end of the day.

Aye, while I'm not entirely too concerend about the environmental aspect, I do find a clothesline outdoors to be pleasant and refreshing. I have the line right by my garden in the backyard, so it's always a nice atmosphere.

I hang my clothes on the line to save energy all but the small garments.ie undergarments and baby items. While the clothes are still damp I take them down and toss in dryer to finish drying this keeps them from being stiff.

I do, it not only saves on the electric bill, but also makes the towels absorb better. Makes the jeans a little stiff, but that's cool.
