Why do people detest MySpace users?

i do not detest myspace users i am one myself i love it i can display my pics of my family for my friends that do not live near by and it is easier to keep in touch and let people know what is going on in my life

People do not detest myspace users in general. What they do detest is when someone uses myspace for inappropriate behavior or illegal purposes.
Such as posting video's of teenagers fighting in the streets. Or making up fictitious profiles and causing harm to other people. Or using the sight for pornographic material.

Having a MySpace isn't wrong, but some people use it to do the wrong things. Just be safe about using MySpace, and you'll be fine.

Depends on it is used, if you are just using it to meet people and not give too much info on yourself it is fine. Some people who put way too much info about themselves on myspace, have found it hard to get a job. Some employers don't like it.
Another reason is some people have abused myspace and have used it to post mean and hateful things about people they know.

I think they don't like it cause like with every thing else you have to self monitor and have to monitor your children. I have it and I love it I have caught up with people I haven't seen in years. I hear alot of people saying that it makes it easier for predators. I just ask them and they don't hang out at the mall, park, or grocery stores ? Be the grown up and teach you kids the do's and don'ts of using the internet as well as reall life, and you shouldn't have a problem.

It's perfectly normal, besides yearbook, xanga, etc, are all crap compared to myspace !
