If the engine is Hydrolocked, all you'll hear is the starter solenoid make a single "click" when you attempt to start the car. I am assuming you drove through a deep puddle when this occurred? If you have full coverage insurance, they'll probably have a garage check it, possibly have an insurance adjuster look at it, and if they determine it was not abuse, they'll probably cover it. However, if you live in an area that recently had heavy flooding and you were driving on a flooded street, they may reject your claim. Good Luck to you, hope you get it covered with no hassles.

Hydrolocking only occurs if water is sucked up into the motor.

i seriously doubt thats the problem unless you have a col air intake.

if you hydrolocked it..it wouldnt start at all.

try getting it to a mechanic asap

depending on your coverage and what caused the damage you may have a legitimate claim for instance if you drove through deep water. I wouldn't claim vandalism like one person stated that would be insurance fraud and a federal crime

If you have full coverage, then you can claim it was vandalized. Then they will cover it.
