The film Spawn, based on the Todd McFarlane Comic book character, is one of the few comic book movies I've never seen. Just wondering, is it any good?

If you are looking for a coherent story, Spawn is not the best film to fulfill this need. Director Mark Dippe, comes out of the world of special effects and it is clear that this is where his interests lie.
My biggest problem with Spawn as a character is that he is just too powerful. As seen in this movie, he can do just about anything: fly, heal, create armor, use eye-beams to remove things from peoples' bodies: there's no rhyme or reason to it; whatever he needs to do, he is able to do in some way that's visually cool but not necessarily logical.
Of the fantastic films, this is perhaps not one of the better ones, but it does have its own mertits and the special features on the DVD are very good.

Yes, Spawn is my favorite comic book charactor.

It's O.K. you should definitely watch the unrated director's cut, it's a bit more like the comic, but the clown is a bit goofy, could have done better with that part>

Yes, it is good, especially if you like cult comics and enjoy watching them made into movies.

I saw it when I was like 10 and I loved it but I saw it again when I was 16 and it sucked. Poor graphics in my opinion. But I think you should watch it to decide for yourself

Watchable but like most of this type of thing it gets a little confusing if you haven't read the novel first

Don't expect anything brain challenging, just sit back and enjoy it. I personally love this movie.
