I believe that SBC does offer some tools to help with the issues discussed but their effectiveness may be in doubt. I find that the free tools available on the net for non commercial use are actually ver effective. check out http://360.yahoo.com/wektech for some suggestions. I usually use bitdefender for removing virus infections and AVG or Avast for protect against them. Spyware scanners are a must and you must use multiple scanners as none seem to be able to deal with every possible permutation of malware.

I would recommend using Norton Anti-Virus, McAfee Anti-Virus, or Grisoft AVG Anti-Virus software. SBC Anti-Virus should be good enough as well, but somehow a virus did get through, whether you visited a Web site or opened a file that had the virus. No anti-virus program is 100% effective, as there are dozens of new viruses every day, and sometimes it is hard to catch up.
The best precaution is always to make sure that you have an updated anti-virus program, and that you use great caution when opening files from people, as well as prudence in going to Web sites that are not widely recognized.

Using a Antivirus program is the most easiest. McGaffy or Nortons are both recomended programs. You pay for these on a monthly basis but the protection is very current.
Another is to Formate your hard drive. I would not recomend that unless you have the programs on a disk that you want to reload back in as Formating will wipe your hard drive clean of all active programs and files (including the viruses). I would suggest find a 'Computer Guru' that would be avalible to assist you if you have problems too.
