Yeah... they're staff + injuries and their bullpen is a little shaky. Taverez and Seanez drives me crazy and the recent struggles of probably the only consistent bullpen staff member, Papelbon, is struggling. I Don't know but I hope they make it.

All depends on how quickly VTek, Nixon and Wake can get back in there. I'ma diehard fan, so I say hell yeah they are, even if it might not be realistic. But, think of it this way. They led the entire first half, and are only down a few games to the Yankees. As far as I'm concerned the AL East is still anyones for the taking. ARod needs to get going for the Yankees to really pull through, and they are just as injury stricken as we are. It will all come down to the September series of Sox-Yanks, like it always does, and that'll decide who wins the division. I don't think they have a chance of getting the Wild Card though, so let's pull for the title!

Yes, I think they will besides all the injuries they are pretty good. I think that once they get Varatek and Nixon back they woll have a solid lineup and take the lead right out from under the yankees.Although Papelbon is struggling i think that he just isn't really used to what pitches Lopez is calling. I think that he is just for coforable with Varitek. Taverez and Seanez drives me crazy! Timlin is ok. The night that schliing pitched agaist the royles that was franconas falt he left him in too long. GO RED SOX

Not if they lose against the worst teams in each division. Throw in their injuries to hitters and pitching staff alike and they fall just short of the postseason. Look for the Yankees to take the East and the White Sox to make the Wild Card.

Yes. Once Wakefield comes back that will shore up the 5th starter spot. The lineup is too good, and when they get Nixon and Varitek back they will have a solid bench. Just look at teh way Wily Mo Pena is playing!

No. They're going to lose the division to the Yankees and lose the wild card to the white sox.

They won't. The Yankees made some good trades, so they won't get the division. As for the Wild Card, Varitek's injury is enough to make me doubt the team's potential.

they are not playing like they were earlier in the season, they are starting to fall apart, and keep getting shakier to make it they need to step up tenfold, and find a winning formula again reconnect to become a team that actually wants to win, then they'll make it.
