As everyone else have suggested, talk to your supervisor and explain the reason for the trip. Express to him/her the desire you have to continue been part of their team when you return and ask for the possibilities.

Good luck!

Were they good to you? Then explain to them it's not personal but you're going to Europe for 2 months.. perhaps they'll even let you take a leave of absence and hold your job for you and get a temp to fill in for you during the duration of the time you're gone. Depending on the employer and the company, most will work with you. If you're quiting and have decided you're not going to return to this company, thank them for being such great a employer and that you enjoyed working with them and the company (that's what I did and they were really nice about it).
and for later, are you interested in working from home? Are you keeping your eyes open for additional streams of income? If you like what you see, fill out the form and you'll be contacted. A simple email is all there is to it. And you'll be provided with a website to review and an 800 number.

Because you enjoy this job, it's not just a paycheck, I would recommend you speak with your supervisor personally first. Let him/her know your situation, how you feel about the job. Also indicate that you may be interested in returning to them once your time in Europe is over.
You should give them something in writing, several weeks ahead. It's possible they will place you on "sabbatical" until you return if there is a chance you still want to work for them later.
Good luck and enjoy Europe, it's great!

Check with your supervisor and see if they will allow you to take a leave of absense. 7 months isn't a lot of time to be with an employer but it won't hurt to ask.
