Use hydrogen peroxide on the toothbrush and replace every two weeks. Also store the brush in the medicine cabinet. Rinse with 1 part salt to 9 parts water for a few days then if the condition still exists see your dentist. You can overdo brushing and flossing causing more harm than good.

Get a new toothbrush first. The residue may still be on there even if you quit using the antibacterial. You might go without flossing for a couple of days because if it is irritated the flossing could be keeping it from healing. Don't stop brushing though. Then you could really have problems. If that doesn't work or if it continues to get worse, then see your dentist.

Check with your dentist. Aqua Fresh used to make a toothbrush cleaner that resembled Denture cleaners. I use it to clean my toothbrush and it does a great job. It may be better to purchase a new toothbrush.

I dont know if you should be using antibacterial soap, i heard soaking your tooth brush in mouthwash is better. anyways, if your gums are sore try rinsing your mouth with peroxide and salt.

The best way to do it is boil it for a few mins.
No amount of soap ever gets rid of all bacteria.

Peroxide and water. You can also use peroxide to sanitize your toothbrushes.
