What are the qualifications for unemployment. Do you have to be fired or can you leave a place that treats you like a dog.

Qualifications depend on state law. Usually if you quit without an acceptable reason, you're not eligible, and the unemp. comp. laws and people determine whether your reason is acceptable, not just because you think it is. If you quit because of very bad working conditions, you might be eligible, but depends on whether OTHERS see the conditions as intolerable.

If you're fired for major misconduct, you're usually not eligible. So don't steal something or punch out someone to get fired.

I made two successful contested claims against employers. Each time I went to the library and carefully read the law. The second time I quit the place and filed for 'intolerable working conditions'. Both times they had a 'hearing'. The first time it took ten weeks. I'd suggest that you read the laws from your state before you try anything.

if your not happy with your job, use your current job as an opportunity to look for a job that you can be happy with. remember that when you don't have a job, it will be harder for you to find another job, so I know your probably tired of your job and you want a break but, its not worth it, find another job while you stil have a job, if you don't like your job, just go to work and do a half *** job, get through the day and look for another job at the same time, trust me you'll be happier this way.
