I don't think it's funny, and I'm a Christian conservative. It's idiotic comments like this that make people think all of us are intolerant, insensitive bigots. A relationship with a cat is nowhere close to the same as a relationship between two intelligent, consenting adults. And in spite of how ridiculously your little "joke" tries to compare things, incest is nothing like homosexuality.
There are many people in this world who live their lives in a manner and make decisions that I may not agree with, but I will not shame myself by ridiculing them for those decisions. How is that helpful to anyone? Even if it goes against my Christian beliefs, those same beliefs tell me to love my neighbor. I don't have to condone it, but I don't hate them for it, either. And you never saw Jesus laughing at or making fun of anyone. He brought change through compassion, not scorn.
Next time, think about the repurcussions before putting forth comments like this. We'd all be better off for it.

You're comparing apples and Ford Pintos. Both may be either red or green, but that's where the similarity ends.
The laws in place have nothing to do with sexual orientation. They are pure gender-based discrimination.
A straight man and a straight woman, of any adult age, can get married without ever having sex or ever reproducing. So, it's not about having children. A gay man and a lesbian woman can get married, without ever having sex or ever reproducing, so it's not about sexual orientation. So, two people of opposite gender, regardless of sexual orientation can get married for the legal benefits.
But two straight women, who will only ever have sex with men, who want to get married for the legal benefits and to provide a stable household for their future children, cannot. That's pure gender-based discrimination.
Your analogies are mindless. Pets cannot enter contractual relationships, and don't have the same rights as adult humans. And nobody anywhere is talking about extending the legal definition of marriage beyond that of two consenting adults. So, there is no slippery slope.
The bottom line is that there are no valid reasons to deny same-sex marriage, and no non-religious grounds to prohibit gay marriage. And religious grounds are never a valid reason to enact secular laws.

Why do people automatically think that allowing two consenting adults to marry would open the door for people marrying cats? Are these people too unintelligent to realize the difference between people and cats?

Marriage is intended to procreate that's why is between a man and a woman. Now, if a person wants to live with another person of the same gender and have a "Love relationship with this person" it does not mean is right but they have the right to do what ever they want if is not affecting other rights. And if the law permits these persons to get married where is procreation?
I am against homosexuality but I respect every body choice of life style just don't take to the streets what you do with your partner in the intimacy of your bedroom. if you want to have a piece of excrement for a son is your problem. Just remember any body organ has a purpose, the anus is to defecate not to introduce a reproductive organ as penis.
Now, homosexuality is a mental illness and is seen as a disease. All homosexuals should be treated as mentally ill persons, with a lot of respect as any other sick person.

Well, first of all, marriage is God joining a man & a woman in a spiritual bond. If the State says that it is legal for 2 gays 2 get married, well there is nothing 2 stop them going thru the motions. But the State & the Law Courts or Man for that matter, do not have the authority 2 make alternations 2 what marriage is. That is like the State making alternations 2 the Ten Commandments or the Beatitudes. God have dictated what marriage is & the definition is FINAL. Between a man & a woman. No Law Court or Priest can change that no matter how legal they make it. The legality is confined therefore 2 the laws of man & in the limited minds of those who reject the laws of God or seek 2 perverse them.
Therefore when 2 gays "marry" they are not married in the eyes of God no matter what the priest or the law courts says. They are just going thru the motions of marriage.
Lots of changes are going 2 occur in this world now 2 reject & alter the laws of God, but rejecting the laws does not erase them or make them false. Man do not have that power or that authority.
This also refers 2 the 2nd part of your question.

Howdy. I am a heterosexual male but I would marry my male dog in a minute. He has been a better companion , confidant , friend and partner than any female I have ever been involved with and he never gives me grief. Unfortunately,It's hard to live without women when you enjoy the sex.

I don't think this is funny, and no I am not a liberal.
Incest is a crime and you are stupid. No, gays should not be allowed to get married, but they should be allowed to share insurance and just live together.

Marrige is between two consenting adults who supposedly understand what there getting into. So if the gays fit this yes they should be able to get married. As for your sister, no, for health reasons, unless she is really hot. If you can get your cat to say yes to marrying you and it understands what its doing then go ahead and marry it but don't expect it to remember your anneversary.

From a religious point of view NO TWO BEINGS SHOULD EVER HAVE TO GET CONSENT TO CARRY ON ROMANTIC OR SEXUAL AFFAIRS!!
From the state point of view TWO BEINGS SHOULD HAVE THE OPTION TO FORM A UNION FOR TAX OR OTHER PURPOSES
To answer your questions: Yes, yes and, yes it's funny--or rather, as you've just pointed out: ironic, this marriage thing, the union of two people OR two BEINGS.

Hey simpleton, Gay marriage has nothing to do with people marrying cats. If a gay wants to marry a gay, guess what? they are both human. Open your tiny little mind.
Its like saying if marijuana was decriminalized, then school bus drivers would be high. Are they allowed to drink and drive now? NO, don't be such a reactioninst, learn to think.
